Shenae Grimes (born October 24, 1989) is a Gemini Award winning Canadian actress. She currently plays the role of Darcy Edwards on Degrassi: The Next Generation. And will be staring as Annie Mills in the new 90210 spin off. She acted in a 2006 Coffee Crisp commercial. She was a recurring guest star on the Disney Channel series Naturally, Sadie as Arden Allcott.
Grimes has been casted as Marissa in True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet and Cayenne in Picture This! both premiering in 2008.
Shenae currently attends Vaughan Road Academy, located in the Oakwood-Vaughan neighbourhood in Toronto. She is also an intern at Toronto’s Fashion Television.
Recently, Shenae participated on a Christmas 7″ record by the band Fucked Up entitled “David Christmas”. The B-side song includes Shenae’s talent along with musical stars and figures like Davey Havok, Scott Vogel, and Nelly Furtado. The record was released on December 15th[1], and included Grimes’ holiday wish of “Merry fucking whatever!” to Toronto[2].
Grimes will Star in the CW’s spinoff off Beverly Hills, 90210 she will play the character of Annie Mills, who is modeled after the character of Brenda Walsh, who moves to Beverly Hills from Kansas in high school just like Brenda moved from Minnesota. It has also been reported that her mother will be played by Lori Loughlin from Full House named Debbie Mills, who is a former Olympic Games medalist.
It is unknown how her role on 90210 will affect her role on Degrassi.
